SugarMamma’s chosen charity for the passive income earned on the SugarMamma portfolio after Round 3 of The $1000 Project is RizeUp Australia.
RizeUp Australia Is a community driven organization dedicated to educating, empowering and ultimately putting an end to domestic and family violence. They support families affected by providing basic household goods as well as giving them hope to move on to a life free of domestic violence.
In many situations, the families affected are relocated to safer areas. This means a new home, new schools and new neighbourhood. RizeUp Australia helps ensure a smooth transition through a range of initiatives such as Rize up Rapid Response, Rize Up At Home, and Back 2 School. More detail on these programs can be found here.
There is no ‘right time’ to leave a situation that is unhealthy. Hence why these aforementioned programs run all year round. Children in particular are affected when they live in homes that are affected by domestic violence and the only life they know is one dominated unpredictablity, anxiety and fear. They need help to move into new schools, to create a stable environment for their lives.
The Back 2 School Program helps RizeUp Australia ensure that all the children living in refuge or who are connected with specialist crisis services can return back or start at a fresh school with everything that they need and they’re not disadvantaged by lack of resources because of the violence that has devastated their lives.
