Normally I would buy myself a birthday present…usually one little luxury “investment” piece, but this year I decided or rather…realised that I don’t actually need anything and that my birthday money would be far better off properly invested…
So with my birthday money burning in my hand, I diligently deposited it into The $1,000 Project account, along with my other savings (from money that was owed to me, selling some things on Gumtree as well as a few quiet nights staying in) and purchased some more shares for the portfolio.
After research various stocks, I decided to make the most of this market volatility and buy $1,000 worth of Westpac stock. This new addition takes my annual estimated passive income from $1,374 to $1,434.
